Generator Load Shed Systems and Priority Systems
Use Case: One of our clients had two generators separately feeding two non-critical loads. The generators were in a noise sensitive area and there was a need to reduce noise as much as possible. BLM&C developed a system that had one generator feed both loads when the loads were low. One generator would automatically shut down, resulting in less noise. However, as the loads increased, controls monitoring the system would turn on both generators to satisfy the requirement. We also worked with our partners and developed sound attenuated air discharge boxes that also reduced noise as much as 5db at 21ft.
Diesel / Natural Gas Systems
At BLM&C, we have the expertise required to install any type of generator system. The operation of diesel and natural gas generators varies and, depending upon the load, a natural gas generator may not be suitable for certain applications.
Use Case: One of our clients needed to add a generator for a critical business operation, but their site prohibited the use of diesel fuel. However, natural gas generators normally cannot handle block loads as well as a diesel generator. We worked closely with the engineers on a natural gas system and— working with the UPS manufacturers — developed a control function that solved the problem. We satisfied the Town, the EPA, and, most importantly, our client’s needs.
